The Al Jazeera Salvage scrapyard in Oman have some really well hidden gems, that offer the opportunity to make cash from cars. The owner of the company, Moh'd Al Zaabi, believes that the main reason why the business gets so many cars to sell for cash, or to scrap is the high number of road accidents. Given the small population of the country, 300 road accidents a month is an unbelievable amount of crashes.
There are some really expensive cars awaiting scraping or possible restoration at Al Jazeera Salvage, some of them were only on the road for a few months before getting damaged. Whilst all of the cars are insurance write offs there is the potential to fix some of them without too much effort. Bargains available for anyone prepared to take a risk.
The salvage company does not crush cars as a matter of course. Instead the cars are stripped of spare parts, which command high prices if they are usable.
